Paula Schumacher Named Acting Administrator

Post Date:02/08/2017

Bartlett Village President Kevin Wallace has appointed Assistant Village Administrator Paula Schumacher to serve as acting village administrator upon the retirement of Village Administrator Valerie L. Salmons, effective February 10.

“Paula has served the Village of Bartlett for 25 years and for the past 16, she has been a trusted and reliable second in command. During her many years of service, she has established strong working relationships with our various civic groups and fellow taxing districts. She knows Bartlett and our organization and the community knows her. She has anticipated this time to move the Village forward, respect the past, and bring some of her innovative ideas to lead the Village in the wake of an amazing past administrator.” said Wallace.

Schumacher has been the assistant village administrator in Bartlett since 2001. She came up through the ranks, starting as an administrative intern and subsequently earning promotions to administrative assistant and assistant to the village administrator.

As a member of the Village’s management team Schumacher works closely with the Village Board and municipal staff to develop and implement policy, and she acts as staff liaison to various community groups including the Bartlett Chamber of Commerce and the Bartlett Veterans Memorial Foundation. She also has experience with capital projects in the Village, including providing oversight during construction of the Village Hall.

“I very much appreciate Mayor Wallace and the Village Board appointing me as acting village administrator for Bartlett,” Schumacher said. “Serving the residents of the Village is an honor, and one that I take very seriously. I hope to make this transition as smooth as possible and look forward to working with the Mayor, Village Board and staff to move Bartlett forward to even greater excellence.”
