NOTICE OF INTENT

Notice is hereby given that planning documents are available for public access and commenting regarding the proposed Raw Sewage Pump Upgrades and Sludge Dewatering Improvements projects. 

The Raw Sewage Pump Upgrades project consists of the rehabilitation of the existing Raw Sewage Pump Station at the Stearns Road Wastewater Treatment Facility. The existing pumping equipment at the Raw Sewage Pump Station has exceeded its useful life and has become maintenance intensive. The Village has chosen to rehabilitate the existing pump station through the removal and replacement of the existing pumps, piping, and associated electrical and controls equipment. 

The Sludge Dewatering Improvements is intended to address sludge dewatering improvements to the existing sludge dewatering system at the Stearns Road Wastewater Treatment Facility. The existing equipment in this building is aging and no longer has the capacity to handle the dewatering of the sludge from the entire plant. This project will include the incorporation of a new centrifuge, polymer unit, and sludge conveyance system into the existing sludge dewatering system as well as associated pumping, piping, electrical, controls and minor demolition work. 

Detailed information on the projects together with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency’s Notice of Intent to Issue a Categorical Exclusion documents will be available for public inspection at the Village of Bartlett Public Works Administration Building located at 1150 Bittersweet Drive, Bartlett, Illinois 60103.  Persons and/or organizations wishing to make a statement on the proposed project will be asked to submit a written statement regarding the project until 10 days after the date of this Public Notice (5/11/2012) and should be addressed to the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency as indicated in the Notice of Intent to Issue a Categorical Exclusion.

BID NOTICE

VILLAGE OF BARTLETT
TELEMETRY SYSTEM UPGRADE

Notice is hereby given that the Village of Bartlett (the “Village”) is accepting sealed bids for its Telemetry System Upgrade Project to be completed in strict compliance with the Contract Documents as defined in the Village’s General Conditions and Instructions to Bidders (the “Project Work”).

Sealed bids will be accepted at the Village of Bartlett Village Hall, 228 S. Main Street, Bartlett, IL  60103 to the Attention of Lorna Giless, Village Clerk until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at which time the sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.  All Bids must be submitted on the Bid Forms furnished by the Village of Bartlett.

Bidding Documents may be purchased at the Village of Bartlett , Main Office, 228 Main St.,  Bartlett, IL 60103 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, excluding holidays, beginning  Wednesday, April 25, 2012.  The payment is non-refundable and is payable to the Village of Bartlett in the form of cash, certified check or money order.  The non-refundable cost for the Bidding Documents is $25.00 for each Bid Packet requested.  Addenda will only be issued to plan holders

The Project includes but is not limited to: Removing existing telemetry and pump controllers at sanitary lift stations and wells; Providing and installing new telemetry and pump controls as specified in the Bid Specifications; providing and installing new antennas and masts; providing and installing new telemetry computer, software and associated accessories as needed to make a workable system as per specifications; testing the new telemetry system at all sites for accuracy and reliability; and Other Project Work as specified in the Contract Documents.

A pre-Bid meeting will be held at the Village of Bartlett Public Works,  Wastewater Treatment Plant Control Building, 1150 Bittersweet Drive, Bartlett, IL, 60103 at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday,

Minorities and women owned businesses are encouraged to submit bids for the Project Work.

The Village reserves the right to reject any and all bids, accept all or part of a bid, to waive any informalities, and to accept any proposal which the Village deems most favorable to the interest of the Village.
