Ghosts of the Civil War
Abraham Lincoln's election was probably the fuse that ignited the American Civil War in 1861. At that time, downtown Bartlett, all the way to the Fox River, was a forest. The rest of Bartlett consisted of farms worked by the first white settlers. Re-enactors in costume, from the Bartlett Historical Society, will introduce you to the English and German pioneers whose family members volunteered to serve in the Civil War and save the Union.
