Citizen Police Academy Starts 9/4

Post Date:08/02/2018
Bartlett Police Department will host its next Citizen Police Academy starting Tuesday, 9/4. The purpose of the Citizen Police Academy is to provide residents, owners, or employees of a business in the Village with a better working knowledge of the police department. Participants can anticipate a fun, challenging and educational experience, designed to foster and enhance positive relationships with the members of the department.

The Citizen Police Academy is a free, 9-week program that meets every Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. in the Bartlett Police Department’s new facility. Selected individuals participate in a series of classroom discussions, demonstrations, interactive scenarios and practical exercises.

The class size is limited. A random draw is used to select the participants if there is an overwhelming demand. Applicants must be at least 35 years old and be a Bartlett resident or an owner, or employee of a business in the Village who can commit to attend the entire 9-week program.

Please contact Sergeant Kyle Rybaski, 630-837-0846, or krybaski@vbartlett.org before Friday, 8/17 if you are interested in participating or if you have any further questions.
