Labor Day Traffic Safety Campaign Results
From Monday, 8/20 through Tuesday, 9/4, Bartlett Police Department participated in the Illinois Department of Transportation’s (IDOT) 2018 Labor Day DUI and seat belt enforcement campaigns. These traffic campaigns were fully funded by federal safety funds through IDOT's Bureau of Safety Programs & Engineering.
The Police Department conducted an additional 40 hours of specialized traffic enforcement to target intoxicated drivers. Five motorists were charged with driving under the influence. Police also made a warrant arrest and two drug-related arrests. Additionally, Bartlett officers issued 17 traffic citations for speeding violations and 21 traffic citations for other moving or non-moving violations.
Bartlett Police also conducted an additional 20 hours of specialized traffic enforcement to target seat belt violations. Officers issued 19 traffic citations for seat belt violations and one citation for an insurance violation.
